CELIA — BRITISH PULLMAN

Identity and collateral created for Celia, the British Pullman’s private dining carriage imagined by Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin.

Private Dining in Motion

Originally built in 1932, Celia was reimagined through the cinematic world-building of Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin. Inspired by Shakespeare, vintage cinema and London’s West End, the carriage follows the imagined story of Celia herself – a fictional leading actress of the 1930s, remembered for her portrayal of Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Gifted her own Pullman carriage in honour of her portrayal, the imagined world of Celia unfolds through velvet drapery, carved oak, floral symbolism and theatrical details inspired by London’s 1930s West End.

Somewhere between theatre, cinema and private dining, the carriage travels through the English countryside aboard the British Pullman, A Belmond Train.

Objects
& Ephemera

Created as the first physical expressions of Celia, the printed materials and presentation objects extended the experience beyond the carriage itself.

Across emblem development, printed ephemera and presentation pieces, the collection established the wider identity of the carriage through texture, detail and theatrical restraint.
